Dr. Philip Bos is the General Aviation aircraft maintenance consultant for Aviation Litigation Consulting. He has over 30 years and over 3,000 hours in general aviation aircraft from light tail draggers to corporate jets. Dr. Bos is a FAA certified airframe and power plant mechanic with an inspection authorization rating. His maintenance experience extends from the small fabric covered aircraft to corporate jets as well as the Boeing 737.

In 1975 he graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics with an A&P license. He worked in the general aviation sector servicing Cessna Citations and other business aircraft. In 1978 he obtained his commercial license with instrument and multi-engine ratings. In 1981 Phil obtained his inspection authorization and in 1983 he started his own fixed base operation which later emphasized operation of the Cessna 300 and 400 series aircraft. Owning the FBO led to managing an airport. He did this while he was maintaining aircraft, providing pilots for hire and managing a flight school.

In 2000 Dr. Bos obtained his Bachelors degree and in 2001 he obtained his Masters in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri. In 2006 he was awarded his Doctorate in Business, Organization and Management from Capella University in Minnesota. Phil is currently an assistant professor at the University of Central Missouri, in the Aviation Department. Among other subjects, he teaches the FAR Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician Program.  Dr. Bos’ education has provided the knowledge while his industry experience has provided the invaluable understanding and expertise on general aviation matters.
