Aviation Consultant InformationThe experts at Aviation Litigation Consulting are what make the difference. Below is a summary of the qualifications and experience of our aviation professionals.
aircraft accident investigation consultant:
Fred Schieszer, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Aviation at the University of Central Missouri has spent most of his adult life in the field of aviation. After graduation from high school he worked at a small general aviation airport doing aircraft maintenance, line service, airport maintenance, and providing secure storage for aircraft which were held by insurance companies pending litigation or disposal. During this time he became interested in what caused the planes to crash. As a pilot, this was a natural extension of his undergraduate college studies in Psychology where he specialized in ergonomics, aircrew mission and task organization. After graduation from College Fred served in the United States Coast Guard as Aircrew on HU-16, HC-130, and HH52 Aircraft. He received training in Aircraft Accident Investigation and participated in many field investigations serving on the aircraft accident board and making recommendations for corrective procedures and actions. After active duty military service was completed, he began graduate school towards an advanced degree. While a graduate student he continued his work in air safety investigation. Upon graduation, with a Masters degree, Fred was hired in the aviation department at Central Missouri State University to teach Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, Transport Aircraft Systems, Weight and Balance, Non Destructive Testing, Aeronautics, and Aircraft Accident Investigation. While a teacher at Central Missouri State University he rose through the ranks of Professor while continuing his work as an Air Safety Investigator, Safety Consultant, and Expert Witness in aviation litigation. The Department of Aviation encourages his extra curricular consulting as a way of keeping abreast of current trends and best practices in the ever changing field of aviation safety. Upon retirement from full time teaching Fred has conducted many investigations and participated in accident investigation boards for private organizations. Professor Schieszer continues to conduct Seminar courses in Air Safety Investigator training twice a year and participates in the General Aviation Air Safety Investigators (GAASI) advanced technical workshop on an annual basis. At a recent poll taken at the GAASI conference it was discovered that nearly 20% of the attendance at the conference were alumni of the Aircraft Accident Investigation class at CMSU. Resume |
